Loving Etsy!

I seem to spend my days getting lost in the pages of Etsy at the moment. Browsing and day dreaming about cute handmade things for the little one in my belly. It's times like this I wish we were rich! I think I would buy almost everything they have on there for babies, lol.

I really like the idea of going handmade for a lot of the baby toys and clothing. I think they are so much cuter then the generic stuff they have in the super markets these days. I am definitely one for trying to do my bit for the environment and the health of my family, but also being an artist myself, I like to support others in the creative industry.

Look at this cute and colourful rabit from Super Sock Monkeys etsy store.

and this wonderful wooden baby rattle from Woman Woodworker's Natural Wood Toys

I am also really passionate about cloth diapering. I am definitely going to try and do my best at sticking with it. I have always wanted to cloth diaper and really hate the idea of using those plastic throwaway diapers from the shops. Not only do I think they are a waste of money, but they are terrible for the environment and the harsh chemicals they use in them to make them absorb aren't very friendly on a little delicate baby bottom.

Not that I have a problem with anyone else using disposables on their own children. They are definitely more convenient and easier to use which is really appealing to me, but I just don't want to use them on my own child. Let's see if I change my tune after the first couple months of cloth diapering, lol.

I really love this fleece diaper cover from Cottontail Babies. It is so darn cute!

Any who, I'm off to browse the many more pages of Etsy :)

Have a great day!!!

Hi michelle! Long time no hear/see. If you want really amazing non toxic ethically made toys try honeybee toys. They have a great range and the woman running it it tops!! ( and it's Aussie run business)
oh and if you only read one parenting book then you must read " parenting for a peaceful world"( by robin grille. Aussie guy). It's about natural non violent birth and parenting and is the most amazing influential book I have ever read. I was so glad I read it early in my pregnancy so I could start whilst still pregnant.
I know I am sounding so bossy here!!?? But you want handmade and cloth nappies.... It's sooo the way to go! Especially if you have a boy. Those plastic nappies heat the genital area and are said to cause probs later in life. I use "baby beehinds" magic alls. I Also bought them online

Hi, Michelle! I am thrilled about your "expectancy", I know you're going to be a wonderful mother. I hope you do well with your decision about the cloth diapers. It isn't easy, and I'll admit I gave up cloth as soon as the throw-aways became available, but I admire your determination. Good luck and blessings to you and your little one!

Hi Michelle Sweetie,
I have missed hearing from you!
So happy that you started this New Blog for your upcoming bundle of joy!
I love handmade things too and Etsy does have wonderful creative things. Just be careful with things with buttons on them they are Not baby friendly. Those are good for children past the toddler stage. :)
Love and hugs,
Norma

Thanks so much for your comment it was great to hear from you :)

Loved the items from etsy you posted in your blog. Sooo cute and great that they are handmade. Good luck with the cloth diapers. I think they are better for baby and way better for the environment. If I had it to do over, I'd use cloth. (My baby is 35 years old now--ROFL! You are bringing back wonderful memories!)
